it's a boy! (?) it's a girl! (?) it's a baby! (maybe)

I have always wondered how I would announce my motherhood to the world. Would I tie a ribbon to a stick I recently peed on (eww), and hand it to my husband?  Would I send my mom a "Happy Grandmother's Day" card out of the blue? Would I hire a skywriter to ink the skies above the homes of everyone I knew? Or would I simply start a new blog with the intention of announcing that I PLAN TO ADOPT A BABY?

Well, it may not be the announcement I dreamed about, but welcome to my blog.

I PLAN TO ADOPT A BABY!

After years of thought and a few months of intense investigations, I have decided to adopt a baby.  I have always known that I was meant to be a mother.  What I haven't always known, however, is that I would still be single when I received that overwhelming sensation that the time is now.  I am ready to be a mother. RIGHT NOW.  I know that being a single mother will have it's challenges.  But, honestly, I don't feel "single".  I feel the love and support of my family and friends.  Family and friends who know my dreams and desires, and who are ready and willing to be there for me on this journey.

There are many steps and challenges associated with adoption, and with single parent adoption, specifically.  I will be using this blog to journal the process.  I hope you'll come along for the ride.....
